It’s that time of year again….This week I embraced my inner child and with fizzy pop in hand, a friend feeding me jelly sweets, I took my seat in the Grand Opera House for this years Panto the gorgeous Cinderella.
This years production was the usual mixture of audience participation, quick fire wit from the legendary May McFetridge, amazing high kicks, well known songs and laughs from all of the cast.
As always it was mesmerising. Young and old packed the auditorium for the traditional Christmas night out and they were not left disappointed.
The star attraction this year being the handsome pop idol come West End Star ; Gareth Gates every girls dream Prince Charming.Local talent Jayne Wisner was back to play the gorgeous Cinderella. Both sang, danced and entertained the crowd leaving us all with a smile on our faces and in our hearts.
Personally I felt the show stopping double act of Gerard McCabe and Tommy Wallace as the Belfast ugly sisters Alesha and Amanda was a brilliant combination. Both actors resplendent in faux fur and crazy outfits played the funniest gruesome two some I’ve seen in years.
Shout outs should also be given to the handsome Jordan Harrington for his note perfect performance and the loveable Michael Joseph with his aww inducing Buttons. Michael will you be this cinders wingman please?
As always I don’t want to give too much away as a Panto should always be seen to be believed but this year it was just the perfect balance of song, dance and stage magic. Get out and see it now the cast will be performing right up to the 15th Jan although tickets are limited so snap them up quick check details out at http://www.goh.co.uk.
