Last week was my birthday, you may have picked that up from some of my other social media posts. I have a thing about birthdays, I love them, no matter how old I get I love to celebrate and this year was no exception.
A few months ago I won a Summer Spa experience at the Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle and as my birthday was mid-week I thought this was the perfect way to spend the day and boy was I right.
I had a body scrub, Polish and a full wrap. All performed by the bubbly talkative Ann-Marie. I don’t know if it’s just me but I find it some much more relaxing when I’m able to have a but if chit chat with the therapist, I’m not a big fan of silence. But being completely at ease I think I may have nodded off slightly in the head massage. After my treatments which left me feeling renewed and my skin as soft as a babies bum. I was treated to a light lunch; I went with the yum chicken Caesar salad and not wanting to return to reality, I had it in my robe. Which also meant after lunch I could take advantage of all the other fabulous spa facilities including the ladies only plunge pool which I got all to myself. I felt like a whole new person when I was finished and it was lovely to switch off for an hour or two something I don’t do nearly enough!! After all my RnR with the friendly staff in Newcastle (who I may add all wished me a happy birthday and treated me like a princess). I was ready to party…and believe me I did.
I was being taken to Belsonic to see Ellie Goulding by Absolut NI and I was very excited however I didn’t realise what was to come. I meet my follow bloggers and media lovies in the National bar in Belfast and after a quick little tipple I was taken out to our chariot for the night.
Wee toast Tours had laid on a special bike bar heading on a scenic route to the Titanic quarter and it was fully stocked with Absolut cocktails. Have you been on one of those tours if you haven’t you really got to try it! I would describe the experience as a spin class with added giggles and alcohol! Perfect!!!
Once we had gotten over our Absolut spin class we entered the new home of Belsonic down at Titanic quarter. The cocktails continued and in the VIP tent we received festival looks from the talented Urban Roots Hair and Paddy McGurgan makeup team. As you can see below my look contained a lot of glitter, in fact so much that I swear I’m still finding specks almost a week later! Feeling every bit the A-lister with my Absolut-A-face I continued the night dancing surrounded by some of my favs. Ellie Goulding rocked and so did we, I couldn’t have planned a better way to spend my birthday than that.
