Hi folks, no vlog this week unfortunately I didn’t have time to sit in front of the camera ). As seems to be the norm for me, this week has been extremely busy in fact I’m not quite sure where the month of March disappeared to. But we are into April and the summer holidays are approaching (although I did witness a snow storm yesterday!!) CRAZY!! Anyway as always I love to work hard and play harder so along with opening a new show with the fabulous Big Telly Team (Puckoon a comedy based on the Spike Milligan book with the same name) and working through Batman Vs Superman with Odyssey Cinemas, I of course fitted in a few blogging adventures! So here goes:
My Sisters Closet
I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Anita and Donna Ross of My Sister’s Closet & owners of Boudoir last week at one of their very fashionable and very enjoyable afternoon fashion teas. This one was held in the Galgorm were amongst socialising with a fabulous set of fashionistas, I got to enjoy afternoon tea, Prosecco and Chambourd cocktails, as well as getting the first peek at the My Sister’s Closet THE LABEL and The Boudoir spring/summer collections. If that wasn’t enough we also had a hair tutorial with Donna Brennan from Studio One Hair salon, who showed the almost 300 strong crowd a simple and easy way to create a braided up do, which I will definitely be trying to recreate for my Coachella trip and we had a demonstration of the seasons make up with
The whole day was really enjoyable the girls are hard workers and it goes without saying the whole family are involved in this business (with mummy Ross in the pop up shop and Daddy Ross on film duty on this particular day). I was overwhelmed at how friendly and approachable these ladies are and it reflects in their success. The fashion show itself was perfectly timed with some of my favourite models from ACA popping up, the collections where affordable and beaming with themes of sunshine, weddings and sipping cocktails on the Riviera. These girls definitely have an eye for buying and designing. Their own collection My Sisters Closet the Label contains dresses, skirts and tops which was eye-catching with bright colours and flattering fittings. My favourites had to be the Kathleen top and Florence skirt. I’m sure this stock will be flying of the shelves. I had a fantastic day and had to buy myself a few treats what women could resist. Congratulations ladies I think this season we will all be fighting over your designs.
PS I couldn’t help but mention the shows sponsor SMART at Mercedes Benz, they have the cutest little car with a sugar skull panel (very very me!!)
Check out the pics below guys to see some of the girls look’s from the day.
After Miss Julie
Yes, I finally got back into a theatre to do a review!! Yippee!! After Miss Julie has been running in the The MAC theatre and I headed in with my mum and little sisters after hearing great things. The production is set VE Day 1945 in the heart of County Fermanagh and celebrations are taking place in every corner of the country. And it explores status, privilege and lust. Featuring Pauline Hutton and Lisa Dwyer Hogg (BBC’s The Fall) and Ciaran McMenamin (Primeval) it was a brilliant one act performance which had the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. It was tense and brilliantly performed with the right pace and undertone of foreboding and lust. Powerful, drama which really keeps you watching and it had three generations of my family discussing it for hours afterwards. Well done to the Prime Cut team.
If this has wet your appetite to get out to the theatre the MAC have a brilliant new programme coming up check it out at www.themaclive.com.
SuperValu Ambassador Chef Launch
After work on Wednesday I headed to Tedfords Kitchen in Belfast (it’s opposite the Waterfront). I’d never been in before and it’s a lovely welcoming and warm space. Even more welcoming was the drink I was handed as soon as walked in the door a fabulous apple and Thyme Ruby Blue vodka cocktail it was amazing and perfect for the summer. I will be recreating this one.
Anyway myself fellow bloggers, media and personalities had been invited along to the launch of the Supervalu ambassador Chef and they thankfully didn’t make us wait too long to reveal the new chef. It’s the wonderful Noel McMeel; Award winning Author of the Irish Pantry and head chef at the Lough Erne resort. What a match made in heaven; a fabulous local chef making the most of local ingredients. And he drove home this fact feeding us with some amazing courses of ham hock, pressed chicken and my personal favourite the rhubarb Cranach. It was a great night with fabulous company and it has speered me to get out to Supervalu get back in the kitchen and get cooking.
Ok guys, that is all I’ve fitted in this week but hope you found it entertaining. I’m going to take a little blogging holiday over the next couple of weeks as I’m off on my big adventure to Venice, Coachella, Vegas and Santa Monica. But keep an eye out on my twitter and snapchat and I will tell you all about it when I get back.
